Three teams from Dolby Vivisol’s offices in Scotland took part in the Trossachs PLOD on Friday 5th June 2015, raising money for Action Medical Research for Children who fund medical research to make a real difference to the lives of sick babies, children and young people

The teams were each made up of four walkers and one support driver. One team, the Dolby Dawdlers, did the 25 kilometre PLOD Lite and two teams, the Dolby Dodgers and Scrambled Legs & Achin’, did the full 50 kilometre PLOD.

The challenge started at midnight on Friday 5th June 2015 leaving from the Dounans Centre in Aberfoyle to trek through the challenging terrain of the Trossachs. It was a gruelling route which was made more difficult by very wet and windy weather conditions. It took the walkers through the Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and Achray Forest, out past Brig o’ Turk (the finishing point for the 25km team) before heading back down, walking along the edge of Loch Venachar to join the Rob Roy Way taking them back to the finish line at the Dounans Centre.

The Dolby Dawdlers finished the 25km PLOD in just under 6 hours, with Scrambled Legs & Achin’ finishing in just under 12 hours and the Dolby Dodgers in just over 12 hours.

So far the teams have raised over £4,000 between them with further donations still coming in. If you would like to find out more about Action Medical Research then please follow the below link.
